Control your PC with Samsung Modes & Routines

On Samsung Galaxy phones you can trigger a power action on your PC straight from Samsung Modes & Routines, Bixby or a home-screen shortcut — without opening the app.

Samsung Modes & Routines come with Turn Off PC Pro or the Power Pack. For the other one-tap options they unlock — home screen widgets and the Quick Settings tile — see the Quick Access & Shortcuts guide.

How it works

Each shortcut runs a single action — Shut down, Sleep, Restart or Wake up — on one of your devices. You first pick which device + action combos to expose inside the app, and they then appear as shortcuts that Samsung Modes & Routines, Bixby and your home screen can use.

The shortcuts run just like the app: locally on your network, and remotely only if that device is set up for remote access with a VPN connected. Waking a remote PC also needs Remote Wake-on-LAN configured.

Step 1 — Register your devices in the app

Samsung Routines can only use devices that already exist in Turn Off PC, so add them first:

  1. Open the app and create each PC you want to control (see the Complete Setup Guide).
  2. Check that each device works from the app — only registered devices appear as shortcuts.

Step 2 — Choose the shortcuts to expose

  1. In the app, open Settings → Samsung Routines.
  2. For each device, tap the actions you want to expose (Shut down, Sleep, Restart, Wake up).
  3. A counter shows how many you've selected, for example 3 / 5.

Each phone has its own limit. The maximum number of shortcuts is set by your Samsung device, and the app shows that limit next to the counter. When you reach it, remove a shortcut before adding another.

Step 3 — Use them in Samsung Modes & Routines

Once the shortcuts are exposed in the app, finish the setup on your phone:

  1. Open Settings → Modes and Routines on your Galaxy phone (or use Bixby).
  2. Create or edit a routine and add an action.
  3. Choose the Turn Off PC shortcut for the device and action you exposed.
  4. Save. You can also long-press your home screen to add the shortcut as an icon.

Now the action runs whenever the routine triggers — for example, shut down your PC when you start a Good night routine.
